Birdzilla flew into the shop today, looking menacingly upon us from his perch atop the telephone wire. The Birdzilla Messenger Bag measures in at 9.5″w x 12.5″h x 2″d and is made of rich brown vinyl, reinforced cotton lining, and heavy-duty webbing. To get a closer look, pay a visit to the Etsy shop.P.S. That’s BIRDzilla, not bridezilla, for those of you who know that I’m in the midst of la la wedding planning.

Home, transformed

Friday, July 6th, 2007

I’ve always wanted a dedicated space for making stuff. Craft-related stuff, that is. So, when I finally decided to make my foray into the world of Small Business (oooh) and try my hand at selling handmade bags, setting up my home studio was one of the things I most looked forward to.

It’s taken a few iterations, but now I’m so happy with my new work space that I had to shoot some photos. Sure, I may never be able to throw a dinner party again or walk in a straight line through my living room for more than a two-foot stretch, but my fabric is in order, my threads are organized, and I’ve got ample table space to spread my work out on! Imagine that!

The key elements of my studio:

Peg boards, Home Depot
Thread racks, Jo-Ann
Plastic storage containers, Ichiban Kan
Glass bottles, IKEA
