2 are better than 1

This is my dear mom holding up the fruits of her labor. She spent three hours wrapping me up in duct tape to make me my very own duct tape dressform!

It was quite an effort (well, mostly for her since I pretty much just stood there), but the Sewing Stunt Double instructions from Sew News were really helpful and well illustrated. And luckily for Mom, I’m pretty straight so we didn’t have to use as much tape or maneuver around too many areas. Heh heh. =D

Also, we did three layers instead of five and used only duct tape instead of the packing tape / duct tape combo, but the dressform still seems to have conformed quite nicely to my shape. I also referred to the Etsy Labs Dress Form Tutorial and Leanna’s Duct Tape Double Q&A in preparation for the effort, but I ultimately went with the Sew News approach because it seemed to be the happy medium between Etsy and Leanna in terms of steps, effort, and quality of the resulting outcome.

So, as soon as I reinforce and stuff this baby up, I’ll have me a true body-double to help me fit my clothes from. THANKS MOM!!!
