Jimmy helps me model my own bag

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

I’ve given up - at least for now - trying to model my own bags. I figure not only will it do my photos much more good to use a cute friend to show my bags in action, it’d be way easier than setting up the self-timer every time, running around to the front of the camera trying to look natural (forget cool, it’s hard enough to just not look lame), running back ’round to see how the shot turned out, then lather/rinse/repeating.

BUT, since Jimmy and I are camping out down here in Cerritos with not much else to do, we took a crack at a baggy ‘n me photoshoot. This was the best pose I could come up with. Ha ha ha. At least the background’s cool, right? And Jimmy framed the photo pretty well I thought.

Actually there was another photo I liked better, especially when I crop my head out, but the way I’m holding the bag out makes it look much huger than it actually is. It is, after all, a Little Lug - not to be confused with The Big Lug.

Here’s that shot anyway:

Zipper botch. Forgot to put the slide on before sewing up the zipper ends. Dangit.

After all those Big Lugs, I thought it was about time to make a little pouchy pouch, and what better fabric for spring than pastel polka dots?!

I’ll use a lighter colored thread to topstitch the next one. Probably look a little nicer that way. And I’m getting used to coiled zippers, which I think slide a bit more smoothly than these packaged ones, although the built in zipper stop on the packaged ones are nice too, so I guess it’s kind of a toss up.

Need to resume normal sleep hours. Get hungry when I’m up too late, and there’s no more milk for to make me a bowl of cereal. And the cookies are all gone…
